SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING

April 19, 2011

The Town Board met this date as per resolution #67  with the following members present:  Supervisor Stanley, Councilman Bartlett, Bernstein, Jordan and Malloy

NOTICE OF SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town of Shandaken Town Board will hold a Special Town Board Meeting on April 19, 2011 at 6:00 pm.  The Purpose of this meeting will be to award the bid for a new ambulance.  This meeting will be held at the Town Hall, 7209 Route 28, Shandaken, New York.

Discussion on the bonding and interest rates.  Rich Muellerleile  said a quote from one of the more well know leasing outfits was 4.29%, a low interest loan would be 4.8%

RESOLUTION # 69 OFFERED BY:  Supervisor Stanley

 

AWARD BID FOR AMBULANCE

 

WHEREAS; the Town Board advertised to received bids for a New 4 Wheel Drive Ambulance and

 

WHEREAS; these bids were received, opened and read aloud during the Regular Town Board meeting on April 4, 2011

 

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this bid be awarded to North East Rescue Vehicles of Syracuse, New York in the amount of $122,204.00.

 

AND MOVES ITS ADOPTION

RESOLUTION # 70 OFFERED BY:  Supervisor Stanley

BOND FOR AMBULANCE

 

WHEREAS; it is necessary for the Town Board to enter into a five (5) year Statutory Installment Bond, and

 

WHEREAS; numerous quotes were received and reviewed by the Captain of the Ambulance and the Town Board, and

 

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Board enter into a five (5) year Statutory Installment Bond, with the Community Bank of North America (formerly known as Wilber Bank) at the rate of 3.75%.

 

AND MOVES ITS ADOPTION

Special Town Board Meeting

April 19, 2011

 

Captain Muellerleile  was asked what they were going to do with the old ambulance, he said that he called around and got two trade in amounts $5,500 and $5,800, we will continue getting quotes.

Mike Collier (from N E Rescue Vehicles) said he would put it on his web site to advertise it.

 

Mr. Collier added that they do not make that ambulance any more, it could be sold for use by a plumber, electrician, etc.

 

Councilman Bernstein said that we should put it out to bid and take the highest bid, Captain Mue

Added that you can reject any or all bids, we could use the $5,800 or the highest quote as a minimum.

 

The Town Board then discussed the Farm Stand issue and Rezoning a section of Route 28 to Hamlet business in the hamlet of Mt. Tremper.    Supervisor Stanley also explained the confusion with the Hamlet Maps being misleading and are not zoning maps.

 

Motion by Supervisor Stanley to close the Special Town Board meeting, seconded by Councilman Bernstein, all in favor, motion carried.

 

Motion by Supervisor Stanley to go in to executive session to discuss some personnel matters, seconded by Councilman Jordan, all in favor, motion carried.

Motion by Supervisor Stanley to close executive session, seconded by Councilman Jordan, all in favor, motion carried.

 

Motion by Supervisor Stanley to reopen the Special Town Board meeting, seconded by Councilman Bernstein, all in favor, motion carried.
